WE LOVED our stay at the AMOY Hotel!! My wife and I sold our home in the USA and travel the world full-time. We "live" 100% of the time in hotels and apartments around the world. We have seen many good properties and some “not so good” properties during our travels. The AMOY Hotel is a true GEM!! From the moment we checked in we could tell there was something special about this property. This is a boutique property - less than 40 rooms – but we soon realized this resulted in a more personalized experience during our stay. For example, upon check-in, we were required to provide our passports to the staff to make a copy. When Thomas handed back our passports, he whispered to me that he saw that my wife just had a birthday and they were planning a little surprise for her. Because we had arrived in the morning, our room was not yet ready. When we returned early afternoon, our luggage had been brought to our room and we saw that the staff had placed a “Happy Birthday” sign and balloons on our bed and left a delicious birthday cake for my wife in the room refrigerator! Our room itself was generous in size, very quiet and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a fantastic job of keeping room tidy and clean! A free – and delicious - breakfast was provided which was served at a restaurant just steps from the AMOY. The entire hotel staff (and manager) always greeted us by name which was so nice! As we got to know the staff, we learned that their goal was to make each guest feel like they were part of the hotel family. Mission accomplished! When it came time to check-out, it was bitter-sweet as we felt like we were saying goodbye to family. We can’t thank Letitia, Adnam, Jay, Thomas, Miza, Nadyah, Sheirly, and Jun Hao enough for their kindness extended to us during our brief time in Singapore. They were true ambassadors for their hotel and Singapore. We can’t wait to return to visit our AMOY family in the future!

This my second stay at this, small boutique hotel in an excellent location for exploring Singapore. It is part of the Far East Hospitality Chain, in the unique setting of a refurbished temple. Location is at the edge of Chinatown it is a mere 250 meters from Club Street and its multiple dining options. The Amoy is directly across street from MRT station (Downtown Blue line) for easy safe access to the airport and other sites throughout Singapore. There are two venues to choose from for breakfast included with your room. A vegan option & a French venue. I ate at both but “Henri” the French option won out based on choices, their coffee and selection of morning pastries. Be sure an ask in advance of ordering what is included your hotel bill. Add-ons are possible at an added cost. The stairs, mentioned by other reviewers require navigating several steps throughout the hallways on the way to the rooms, due to restrictions placed on renovations as it is an historical site converted to a hotel. I was informed the rooms on the 4th floor had no stairs to navigate. An elevator to fourth floor eliminates the stair challenge. Rooms are small, but spotlessly clean, hot water abounds and the Wi-Fi is high functioning. Over-all an excellent choice for travelers seeking a smaller place to stay at a reasonable price. Finally, staff are extremely welcoming and helpful.

The most amazing stay ever at a hotel, and a big factor in that was the amazing staff. Smooth and quick check-in process by the friendly staff, tea on arrival, room very well presented and clean, complimentary sweets, it was the little touches that made the stay totally lovely. Sheirly and Letitia went out of their way to assist and make sure the stay was pleasant. Took care of the luggage after check out (and another refreshing cold tea in the hot afternoon served in the lobby!), provided changing facility , calling the cab on way back to airport. Am blown away by the hospitality of Sheirly and Letitia. All staff Adham, Thomas, Jay, Junhad were great but in particular Letitia just made the stay ever so memorable. It's a great place to stay. Location is also very nice. China town vibes, great history here, loved the old town layout and close proximity to the work place in CBD. Walking distance to a lot of places including the marina, mosque, lots of eating options. Definitely give this one a go!

The hotel has a great location - convenient for the mrt, places to eat and downtown is easily walkable. It's also possible to walk to the marina Bay Area from here. We also loved it being inside the museum and the general feel of the hotel. All staff that we encountered were incredibly welcoming and helpful. It was our anniversary while staying here and touching celebrations had been placed in our room. We loved that our room was on 2 floors and just so nice to stay somewhere a little different. Breakfast not served on site but you have the opportunity to take your breakfast at 1 of 2 excellent choices located next to the hotel. Fantastic that the tap water was drinkable. Would highly recommend The Amoy for a stay in Singapore.

Lovely and clean room in the centre of Singapore business district with great proximity to the station. The entrance to the building is interesting and historic and breakfast at the cafe next door was great. Staff were particularly fantastic! They were incredibly friendly, flexible and attentive. They let me check in and out a little early and held my bags whilst I explored the city on the last day. They also offered showers in the neighbouring hotel spa before my flight in the evening which was fantastic! Thank you so much for a great stay. I would absolutely stay here next time.
